About Us

  • Combat Stress Learning shares our evidence-based, trauma informed expertise of veterans’ mental health with organisations who work with, employ or support veterans, so that they can help the former servicemen and women they encounter to live healthy and meaningful lives.

    • We facilitate the sharing of knowledge and promote collaborative learning by encouraging learners to ask questions, share experiences and learn from each other as well as from Combat Stress.
    • Together as a unique learning community we can improve the life experiences for veterans with mental health issues.
    • Our training is based on trauma informed principles and an evidence base.
    • No other health training space has such veteran-focused content or so many armed forces organisations collaborating.
    • We are the trusted home for those who want to learn more about veterans’ mental health.

OUR AWARDS

LEARNING AWARDS 2025

“Being recognised as finalists for such a prestigious national award like The Learning Awards is a huge honour.

Probably more so, because this particular category was not open for public application and had to be not only recognised by a third party, but an application written and submitted. For us to make that much of an impact on someone’s learning and professional development makes us feel immensely proud, especially featuring alongside other finalists such as Microsoft, Heathrow Airport, Mind Tools, Wema Bank and higher education organisations.

To follow up being 2024 finalists in The Soldiering On Awards with this 2025 accolade, shows just how far Learning and Development at Combat Stress has come, in such a short space of time.  This is in no doubt thanks to our vision, drive and appetite to share expertise on our social learning platform, giving our internal and external learners not only access to up-to-date, hot topical and high value content, but in a modern, collaborative and learner-centric style.

The Learning and Development Team will continue to design and mobilise our subject matter expertise and for all of our authors, co-authors and contributors, please share our pride in being recognised as one of the leading teams in the UK in specialist education.”

SOLDIERING ON AWARDS 2024

We’re thrilled to share that our Learning & Development (L&D) team have been announced as finalists of the #SoldieringonAwards 2024.

Dr Naomi Wilson, Head of Psychological Therapies at Combat Stress, said:

“Our Learning Community is the first of its kind. The positive impact of our learning platform on veteran mental health support underscores the importance of ongoing efforts to address mental health challenges within the veteran community. The veteran is at the heart of what we do, and we believe our training will ultimately improve the lives of veterans in the UK.”
